OCT (optical coherence tomography) is the best way to make sure you are taking care of your eyes. The technology does not use any radiation and as such is safe to use with no risk. It is also quick and can be easily incorporated into your routine eye examination.
OCT allows us to detect eye conditions and diseases earlier than typical methods of eye examination. It can be an especially useful tool in the monitoring and management of glaucoma, as well as allowing optometrists to detect sight threatening eye conditions like wet macular degeneration early.
Currently OCT is not paid for by the NHS, so we offer it as an optional add on for all patients for the low price of £15, and is included as a part of our £40 enhanced eye examination for private patients.
