Established in July 2002 by Steve Lea, Special Looks Opticians was opened to provide customers with a more personal experience than those obtained at other opticians.
Our practice was opened in Lye, in March 2003, next door to Oakhill Optical Laboratories, who manufacture all of our spectacle lenses. This allows us to deliver a quality product in a quick and efficient way.
The practice was taken over by Dan Wright in May 2023, who now is the resident optometrist, providing the majority of our clinical services

Scope of Practice:
We strive to offer customers a premium optical experience, while at the same time maintaining the core values of a family run business.
We aim to deliver high quality and premium spectacles and contact lenses to anyone who requires them.
We aim to improve and maintain the ocular health of all of our patients and customers, through routine eye health exams.
We provide optical products at a fair price to our patients.
We offer a range of products that suitable to the requirements of our patients.
We put our patient's ocular health first.
We believe that optics isn't just about providing patients with spectacles, but also
that we have a healthcare obligation to our patients.
Eye examinations don't just look at how well you can see, but can tell us about the overall health of a patient. From looking at the eyes we can pick up early signs of things such as high blood pressure or diabetes.
